Submissions to Inland Fisheries Ireland's Corporate Planning process for 2026-2030
IFI’s valued partners and key stakeholders are invited to participate in the development of our new Strategic Plan for 2026 – 2030
IFI is the State environment agency responsible for protecting, managing and conserving Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources.
As we look ahead to our new Plan, we are keen to take this opportunity to set the direction for how IFI will continue to position the State’s inland fisheries and sea angling resources as sustainably as possible for the benefit of future generations.
As Ireland, like the rest of the world, continues to experience the detrimental effects of climate change, our work has never been more important.
At IFI, we recognise that the insights and perspectives of our stakeholders are crucial in crafting a strategy that is not only innovative and forward-looking but also grounded in the realities of the environment we work in. Your experience, knowledge, and unique viewpoint would provide invaluable contributions to this process.
We are seeking your input in several key areas:
- Sector Trends and Challenges: Your perspective on current trends and potential challenges in our sector will help us identify opportunities and risks that should be considered in our strategic planning.
- Collaborative Opportunities: We are interested in exploring potential areas for deeper collaboration that could be mutually beneficial as part of our new strategy.
- Feedback on Operational Impact: We welcome your views on the role of IFI generally, as well as your specific thoughts on where IFI has – or can have – the most impact through its operations.
Next Steps
To facilitate your involvement, we would welcome the submission of your views via the questionnaire below by Friday April 18th, 2025.
In order to manage and consider the feedback of all our stakeholders effectively, we ask that this submission does not exceed three A4 pages.
There will be additional opportunities to engage directly in the development of our new Plan later in the year, as we will be inviting our stakeholders to meet in person and discuss a draft of our Plan.
We believe that a collaborative approach will lead to a stronger, more resilient strategy to guide the years ahead, and we thank you for your time and consideration.
We look forward to your participation and valuable input.
