Press Release 09/04/13

IFI allay fears of fish kill on River Eany

Inland Fisheries Ireland wish to clarify that reports of a fish kill on the Eany River today are unfounded. Discolouration of the water due to suspended solids following a burst pipe upstream does not appear to have caused a fish mortality. The water is expected to clear in the next few hours.

Normal fish behaviour has been observed throughout the length of the river.

IFI would advise anglers and the general public to report suspected fish kills or pollution incidents to their 24 Hour hotline 1890 34 74 24 or to their local IFI office in Ballyshannon 071 9851435.
